P-TEC Automotive has been able to further utilise the flexibility and rapid prototyping capabilities of the P-LANet modules on recent projects undertaken to integrate multiple Electrical Architecture levels to provide a vehicle that exhibits the feature content of future models from both a functionality and ‘feel’ to significantly reduce the development time of key Electrical systems.
By using system modelling software such as MatLab and Simulink the engineers were able to capture and model the functionality and obtain client sign-off before code generation.
The Electrical Systems that have been integrated within the P-LANet module environment include:
- Engine Management Systems
- Powertrain Systems
- Comfort Systems
- Switchgear functionality
- Data logging for critical calibration parameters
- Gateway functions including CAN, LIN and FlexRay systems
P-TEC continues to develop the P-LANet range to include next-generation functionality, higher processing power and FlexRay compatibility.
